Ford, who has severe cerebral palsy, sees evidence of American prejudices against disabled persons in the case of Terri Schiavo. He makes a powerful and convincing case that Schaivo, who is not terminally ill, is being starved to death because those displaying cognitive disabilities are seen to be living lives not worth living.
