[In an effort to decrease the clutter in your in-box, I’m going to try limiting myself to sending you two emails per week. One will lead you to the weekly Route 66 podcast. The other will post links to pieces I’ve written or published on Substack (or in other places) that week. Because I’m not a “big fish” in the Substack pond, this may adversely effect my site. So, I’m doing this on an experimental bases. If it doesn’t seem to be working, I’ll try something else.]
Our Reward
This is a sermon for Sunday, June 28. Churches without pastors, preachers who run short on time, Bible study leaders, and individuals may use it as they wish. You can find it here.
A new AI version of Someday. I write songs, and have since I was eight years old. Now Suno makes it possible for people like me, who don’t play musical instruments or read music, to get accompaniment for their original songs. I sing my tunes onto the Suno app, stipulate the kind of arrangement I want, and a finished version my original composition is created. I’ve croaked lead vocals on some of my songs and they’re published on Suno, but I haven’t yet been pleased with how my lead vocal on Someday has turned out. So, I’ve created a new AI version. You’ll find it here. (For background on this song, go here.)
How did we get the Bible and why you can trust it: That’s the title of this special episode of the podcast. It’s based on a presentation I gave at Living Water Lutheran Church in Centerville, Ohio, on June 21.
Enduring Joy! I was honored to preach and lead worship again this past Sunday at Living Water Lutheran Church, a congregation I served as pastor for ten years. This is the sermon I shared.
Route 66: Matthew, Part 9. On the Route 66 podcast, we’re digging into the Gospel of Matthew. This past week brought part 9 of the study.
Life or Death. I also shared a short reflection based on Psalm 135, dealing with the small issues of life and death.
