In this episode, we consider chapters 38 to 40 of Jeremiah, encompassing the prophet’s imprisonment and deliverance, the destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon’s armies, and the decision of Jeremiah to remain with the destitute poor left in Judah after Babylon’s king took Judah’s “best and brightest” into exile.
