A prayer for the safety of our political candidates

The second attempt on Donald Trump's life is a disturbing event

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus.

We are deeply grateful that a second apparent attempt to assassinate the former president has failed, the suspect has been apprehended, and the Secret Service, FBI, and local law enforcement worked together effectively to prevent any death or injury from happening.

We pray that You will extend Your protection for all who seek public office.

We further ask that You would help us all to refrain from posting disrespectful, unkind, unfair, or unverified memes or words on social media. Such posts can create an overall atmosphere of violence.

Finally, give all who run for public office Your wisdom and both the humility and courage to act on Your wisdom.
